Claims (6)
- A locking device for a sash post (8) against a frame post (9) by the cooperation of a hook (10) associated to the sash post and a trowel recessed into said frame post, said hook being attached to a rod (12) adapted to slide on itself along the sash post between a passive and an active locking positions in which the hook is engaged and locked in the trowel, said device including a lock housing (18) mounted on the sash which contains a force transmission mechanism (16) adapted to transform the movement of an operating member (14) into a translation of said rod along said sash post,
such that the force transmission mechanism (16) includes a guiding pin (30) provided so as to follow, on the one hand, the movement of a first element of the mechanism (28, 38) connected to said operating member (14) and, on the other hand, the displacement of a second element of the mechanism (32) connected to said rod (12), said guiding pin being adapted in order to move between a first extreme rest position corresponding to said passive position of the rod and a second extreme safety position corresponding to said active position for locking the rod and in which the guiding pin is blocked in the moving direction of the rod, in the two directions, and in that said guiding pin is further hold in two slits (78) provided facing each other, each of said slits including a guiding part (90) which extends in the displacement direction of the rod as well as a blocking part (92) which prolongs said guiding part by forming an end bent perpendicular to said displacement and in which the guiding pin is in said second extreme safety position, said guiding pin including a central part (42) and two end parts (43) provided on both sides of the central part and adapted to be respectively housed in one of said slits. - The locking device according to claim 1, characterized in that said lock housing (18) is made from two shells (26, 27) adapted to contain the force transmission mechanism (16), and in that the slits (78) in which is maintained the guiding pin (30) are respectively provided on one of said shells, in a symmetrical way with respect to the junction plane of said shells, the two end parts (43) of said pin being adapted to be housed respectively into one of said slits.
- The locking device according to claim 1 or 2, characterized in that the force transmission mechanism (16) includes a cam (38) constituting said first element of the mechanism and being actuated by the operating member (14) as well as a slide (32) constituting said second element of the mechanism and being unitary with the rod (12), said cam and said slide being made unitary for displacement by the action of said guiding pin provided transversely into grooves (40; 50) respectively realized on said cam and said slide.
- The device according to claim 3, characterized in that the end parts (43) of the guiding pin have each one a diameter different from that of the central part (42) and substantially equal to the width of the slits (78) in which the guiding pin (30) is maintained, said central part having a diameter substantially equal to the width of the grooves (40 ; 50) respectively provided on the cam (38) and the slide (32).
- The device according to any of claims 3 to 4, characterized in that the grooves (40; 50) formed on the cam (38) and the slide (32) have a depth larger in size than that of the diameter of the guiding pin central part (42).
- A picture window comprising a sliding sash (2) being locked against a frame post (9) according to the locking mechanism as described in any one of claims 1 to 5.
