Abstract

The invention concerns an arrangement (10) for a motor vehicle body front part structure comprising, from the front rearwards, an engine section (12) closed by a bonnet (14), separated from the vehicle passenger compartment (16) by a substantially transverse engine wall (18) whereof one upper portion comprises, from the front rearwards, a cowl transverse roof drip moulding (20) and a recess lower crosspiece (22), wherein the cowl transverse roof drip moulding (20), in longitudinal cross-section is substantially U-shaped whereof the front branch (28) is flush under the vehicle bonnet (14) and one rear branch (30), which is designed to receive a piece of equipment, in particular a vehicle wiper mechanism (34), joins the recess lower crosspiece (22) whereon rests the windscreen (26). The invention is characterised in that the cowl transverse roof drip moulding (20) is fixed at least on the recess lower crosspiece (22) and is detachable.

  automobile "The invention relates to an arrangement for the structure

  of a front part of the body of a motor vehicle.

  The invention relates more particularly to an arrangement for the structure of a front part of the body of a motor vehicle which comprises, from front to rear, an engine compartment which is closed by a hood, which is separated from the passenger compartment of the vehicle by a substantially transverse apron, an upper part of which comprises, from front to rear, a transverse awning gutter, and a lower bay cross member, of the type in which the transverse awning gutter, in longitudinal section has substantially the shape of a U whose front branch is flush with the hood of the vehicle and a rear branch of which is intended to receive equipment, in particular a vehicle wiper mechanism, joins the lower cross member of

  bay on which the windshield rests.

  There are many examples of arrangement of

  front part structure of this type.

  For the most part, these arrangements comprise a transverse awning gutter having in longitudinal section the shape of a U, a rear branch of which is welded to the point on a vehicle apron during assembly of the vehicle body. . The transverse ends of the transverse awning gutter are moreover welded to internal lateral cheeks of front fenders of the vehicle. The document EP-B1-0,331,644 describes and represents such a transverse awning gutter, which is closed by a removable cover with ventilation slots and a hole

  for the passage of a wiper drive shaft.

  Such an arrangement makes it easier to mount the wiper drive shaft which, unlike conventional arrangements, does not require passing through a fixed wall forming a cover for the awning gutter of the vehicle. However, the mounting of the equipment which is intended to take place in such an awning gutter remains difficult due to lack of accessibility inside the engine compartment of the vehicle. In particular, the mounting of bulky equipment such as a vehicle wiper mechanism is made difficult because of the small

  dimension of the upper opening of the awning gutter.

  Furthermore, a fixed awning gutter welded to the vehicle body has the drawback of requiring long and costly desoldering and reweld operations in the event of replacement, as is the case when the vehicle has suffered an accident and the awning gutter was

deformed by shock.

  To remedy this drawback, the invention provides an awning gutter which is capable of receiving its equipment before it is mounted on the vehicle, and which can be dismantled for the purpose of repairing the vehicle body. For this purpose, the invention proposes an arrangement of the type described above, characterized in that the transverse awning gutter is fixed at least on the crosspiece

  lower bay and is removable.

  According to other characteristics of the invention - the transverse gutter has at each of its transverse ends lateral cheeks for its removable fixing on lateral cheeks of longitudinal orientation of the deck, - the transverse gutter has holes on the rear branch of the U and on the side cheeks for fixing by screwing the transverse gutter respectively on the lower bay cross member and on the deck, - the rear branch of the U gutter has at least one anchoring tab and holes to allow respectively the fixing of a wiper mechanism and the passage of wiper drive shafts, - the transverse gutter has 1o anchor points for a washer fluid reservoir and sprinklers vehicle windshield washer, - during assembly, the transverse gutter is previously fitted with the wiper mechanism, and / or the reservoir, and / or the nozzles s of windscreen washer, before being fixed at least on the lower cross member of the window, - the front branch of the U-shaped gutter has at its upper end at least one seal forming a seal with

the hood of the vehicle.

  There is shown in Figures 1 to 3 an arrangement 10 for the structure of a front part of the body of a motor vehicle. In a known manner, as illustrated in FIG. 3, the body of the motor vehicle comprises, from front to rear, an engine compartment 12 which is closed by a cover 14 and which is separated from the passenger compartment 16 of the vehicle by an apron 18 of the vehicle, an upper part of which comprises, from front to rear, a transverse awning gutter 20 and a lower cross member 22 of a bay. The lower cross member 22 of the bay is intended to support a lower part 24 of a windshield 26. In known manner, the transverse gutter 20 of the awning has substantially in longitudinal section the shape of a U of which a front branch 28 is flush under the hood 14 of the vehicle and a rear branch 30 of which joins the

  lower cross member 22 of the bay supporting the windscreen 26.

  An upper end 27 of the front branch 28 carries a seal 29 which is capable, when the cover 14 is closed, of sealing the engine compartment 12 relative to the awning gutter 20. Furthermore, the rear branch 30 of the awning gutter is intended to receive a

  windshield wiper mechanism 32.

  According to the invention, the transverse awning gutter 20 is fixed at least on the lower cross member 22 of

bay and is removable.

  In Figure 3, there is shown an axis A for fixing, for example by screwing, the transverse gutter 20 of awning on the lower cross member 22 of the opening. As illustrated in FIG. 1, the rear branch 30 of the awning gutter 20 has holes 34 distributed over its entire width which allow the gutter 20 to be fixed on the crosspiece 22

lower bay.

  In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the transverse canopy gutter 20 is closed at each of its ends 36 by a lateral cheek 38. When the gutter 20 is assembled to the vehicle body, the cheek 38 is in contact of a body structure element of the vehicle, in particular a longitudinal cheek (not shown) of the apron 18. The cheek 38 allows in particular the flow of water resulting from the condensation of air humidity or rain towards a bottom 40 of the gutter 20 which is pierced with at least one orifice 43 for the evacuation of this water under the

vehicle.

  The lateral cheek 38 advantageously comprises at least one bore 42 which allows additional fixing of the transverse canopy gutter on the cheek

  longitudinal (not shown) of the bulkhead 18 of the vehicle.

  According to the invention, the rear branch 30 of the gutter 20 in a U has at least one lug 44 and holes 46 allowing respectively the fixing of the wiper mechanism 32 and the passage of shafts 48

wiper drive.

  This arrangement is particularly advantageous because, during assembly, the gutter 20, previously equipped with the wiper mechanism 32, can be installed on the vehicle, which considerably simplifies operations

  vehicle assembly and lower the cost.

  In the preferred embodiment of the invention, the rear branch 30 of the vehicle advantageously includes anchoring points, in particular holes 50 and 52 which respectively allow the mounting of a reservoir (not shown) of the vehicle glass and sprinklers (not shown) of the vehicle glass. The anchor points 50 and 52 may in particular be bores intended to respectively receive screws for fixing the reservoir of the

  1. Arrangement (10) for the structure of a front part of the body of a motor vehicle which comprises, from front to back, an engine compartment (12) which is closed by a cover (14), which is separated of the passenger compartment (16) of the vehicle by a substantially transverse apron (18), an upper part of which comprises, from front to rear, a transverse gutter (20) and a lower cross member (22) of the bay, type in which the transverse awning gutter (20), in longitudinal section has substantially the shape of a U whose front branch (28) is flush with the hood (14) of the vehicle and including a rear branch (30), which is intended to receive equipment, in particular a mechanism (32) is for the vehicle's wiper, joins the lower cross member (22) of the bay on which the windshield (26) rests, characterized in that the gutter (20 ) transverse awning is fixed at least on the lower crosspiece (22) of bay and is removable.   2. Arrangement (10) according to any one of   previous claims, characterized in that the gutter   (20) transverse has anchor points (50,52) for   a washer fluid reservoir and washer nozzles vehicle glass.   6. Arrangement (10) according to any one of   previous claims, characterized in that, at   mounting, the transverse gutter (20) is previously equipped with the wiper mechanism (32), and / or the reservoir, and / or windscreen washer nozzles, before being fixed at least   on the lower cross member (22).   7.
