Abstract

The invention concerns a wall made up of rigid synthetic plastic plates (1, 2, 24, 25), arranged side by side with slight clearance between their adjacent edges (3, 4, 38, 42). Said plates are made integral by linking means (10, 24-1, 33, 33-1) with light beams (5, 6, 7; 26, 27, 28) which are themselves linked to the room corresponding walls (17, 41). A binder set in the clearance reserved between the synthetic plastic plates improves the internal wall stability and eliminates breaks at the surface.

  Lateral interior wall or forming a false ceiling of a room in a building.

  The invention relates: more generally, interior walls of rooms fitted out in buildings of all kinds, such as apartment or office buildings, individual houses and all types of rooms inside these buildings. These can be entrance rooms, meeting rooms, and in general, all rooms intended for individual or collective use. The invention relates not only to the interior walls which cover the side walls of these rooms, but also the interior walls, most often

  horizontal, which form false ceilings in these rooms.

  The invention also relates more generally, to the method which makes it possible to

  make such interior walls, whether lateral or forming a false ceiling.

  Both in the case of a false ceiling and in that of at least one lateral interior wall of at least one room, it is known. to use for the interior cladding of the side walls or of the false ceiling structure, materials

  relatively fragile, such as those based on plaster.

  Materials tend to crack especially in the case of weak

  deformations of the underlying structure.

  So we looked for the possibility of using much more materials

resistant.

  We have also sought to be able to achieve very beautiful surface conditions by practically eliminating the risks so frequent, of formation of cracks or deformation. We have also sought to keep the possibility of arranging, after construction, cable or pipe passages of all kinds through these walls and also the

  along the hidden place of these.

  We have also sought to have side internal walls or false ceilings allowing the easy installation of lighting fixtures and all decoration accessories, such as chandeliers, paintings, mirrors, etc. without the risk of dropping out or

wall deformation.

  The lateral internal wall or forming a false ceiling of a room of a building which is the subject of the invention comprises rigid plates of plastic material, placed side by side, reserving a small clearance between the adjacent edges of these plates. These adjacent edges are preferably cut, so as to form, after installation, a longitudinal opening having a V-shaped cross section. Preferably also, these cut surfaces converge towards the interior of the

  piece and keep a clearance of about 1 to 5 mm at the tip of the V.

  A binder which is preferably a plastic binder such as a silicone is introduced inside this longitudinal opening over its entire length and thus establishes a bond

  solid between the plates after solidification.

  Each plate is secured with beams which can be metallic

  or non-metallic, thanks to connecting means such as screws.

  The beams are themselves connected to the partition or to the wall, in the case of a

  false ceiling, to the resistant wall of the ceiling, by suitable means.

  In the case of a partition, the beams are advantageously secured with structural components of this partition, such as metal profiles or not. In the case of false ceilings, suspension rods are advantageously used, the upper ends of which are connected to the resistant structure of the ceiling, the lower ends being connected to the beams, themselves secured

  with plastic plates.

  Preferably, in order to produce the interior walls according to the invention,

  rigid polyvinyl chloride plates.

  Particularly advantageously, polyvinyl chloride is used

  expanded having a density of preferably between 0.3 and 1.2.

  This combines a very good bondability, using binders, such as for example silicones, with a very good ability to fix layers of

  paint or varnish or stretched lacquers or other.

  Advantageously, these rigid plates are given a thickness of the order of

3 to 15 mm.

  Unlike other widely used plastics, polyvinyl chloride is classified "M1" and therefore does not spread fire in the event of a fire. We understand that this quality of flammability is particularly

  important for its implementation in the building.

  It can be seen that, in the case of living rooms with an internal height of approximately 2.5 mm, lateral internal walls can be produced, for example made of rigid sheets of expanded polyvinyl chloride (PVC) having a

  length equal to the interior height and a width of the order of 1.2 m or more.

  As will be seen in the examples below, it is without difficulty, in the case of suspended false ceilings, to use several plastic plates placed end to end to cover the length of the room, it is then often advantageous to

  arrange the beams transversely relative to the length of the plates.

  As specified above, it is advantageous to fill the gaps between the adjacent edges of the plates from the inside, ensuring that the binder forms a bead inwards. It is thus possible, during the final phase of production of the interior wall, whether it is lateral while forming a false ceiling, to carry out a fine grinding of the interior surface of the whole of the plastic wall, after a sufficient time to

polymerization of the binder ...

  A smooth surface is thus obtained capable of fixing the layers of varnished paint or

  lacquer with maximum efficiency.

  For fixing the plastic plates to the beams, self-drilling screws are preferably used and screwing is preferably carried out until the head is sunk below the level of the internal surface of the plate. The depression thus formed is then filled with a few drops of binder, and,

  after solidification, the excess thickness is removed by fine grinding.

  In a very general manner, the method which is also the subject of the invention consists in securing a set of rigid plastic plates with a set of beams, so as to support the beams against the wall

outer plates.

  While maintaining a small clearance between the adjacent edges of these plates, and consists in connecting the beams to at least one structural component of the relevant wall of the part, then in introducing a binder in all the clearances between adjacent edges of the plates and finally, after solidification of the binder to fine-grind the whole wall

inner plates.

  As mentioned above, preference is given to the use of plates

rigid expanded PVC.

  The examples and figs. Schematics below describe in a nonlimiting manner particular embodiments of the device and implementation of

  process which are the subject of the invention.

  Figure I is a top plan view of two rigid sheets of expanded polyvinyl chloride (PVC) 1.2. Only one end zone of each of these two plates is approximately 1.2 m wide and 2.5 m long and 7 mm thick. Figure 2 is a view along arrow F1 of the section plane perpendicular to the

  plan of figure I following the trace X1-XI.

  The thickness of the plates 1,2 has been increased in relative value in this figure 2 at

to improve readability.

  As already indicated, the choice of thickness can vary taking into account the

  dimensions and degree of expansion.

  The adjacent longitudinal edges 3 and 4 of the two plates are cut approximately with respect to the plane of FIG. 1, so that the clearance between the two plates has a V-section as shown in FIG. 2, with a minimum orientation "e "about 1 to 5 mm. This section V is oriented towards the interior of the room. The metal beams 5, 6, 7, of Figure 1 are arranged

  transversely, with spacings of about 0.6 m between them.

  Galvanized steel beams are commonly used having for example a

  U-section as shown in Figure 3 which is an enlarged view.

  We see that each wing 8, 9 has a fold inward thus defining an opening of width "LI" less than the internal width "L2" separating the

wings 8, 9 from each other.

  The beams are secured to the plates, such as 1.2 by means of self-drilling screws, such as 10 which pass, as shown in Figure 2, the PVC wall

  expanded and the corresponding beam.

  The screws are tightened so that their heads enter the PVC below

of the entry surface 23.

  The slight depressions 10-1 thus produced in the expanded PVC wall at each screw head are preferably each filled with a set of binder and during the fine grinding of this plastic wall, after polymerization of the binder, a

  united surface is obtained capable of receiving any suitable surface coating.

  As shown in Figure 1, all the edges of the plates I and 2 are cut, this size is preferably made with the same angle of about 45 for all the edges which will cooperate, such as 11, 12, 13 with the adjacent edges other plates at the

realization of the false ceiling.

  As specified below, the size angle can be different when the edge of the false ceiling cooperates with the edge of a side wall which is most often

perpendicular to the false ceiling.

  As shown in Figure 2, the false ceiling is suspended by metal threaded rods such as 14, 15, 16 on a reinforced concrete slab 17 which constitutes the wall

  resistant from the ceiling of the room.

  Each of these metal threaded rods is secured to a beam, to

  its lower end, by means of a retaining part 18.

  Different types of retainers can be used.

  The retaining part 18 is shown in enlarged form in FIGS. 4 and 5. The

  Figure 5 is a schematic top view.

  This retaining piece 18 comprises an axial female thread 19 able to receive the lower end of a threaded rod such as 14. The width L3 of the rectangle is less than or at most equal to the entry width

LI of the beam (fig. 3).

  Similarly, the length of rectangle L4 is very close but noticeably not

  greater than the internal distance L2 between the two wings of the beam.

  It is thus possible to introduce the retaining piece lengthwise inside the beam

  and put it in the retaining position by rotation of 90.

  Preferably, the retaining part has rounded edges such as 20 to facilitate its rotation by 90 and flats such as 21 to promote a slight tightening.

  In the case of FIG. 2, the retaining part 18 is shown in the cutting plane in the position for holding the threaded rod 16 whose upper end is

  secured by a dowel to the slab 17.

  On the contrary, Figure I shows the retaining pieces 18 housed lengthwise in the

  beams in the absence of threaded rod.

  In practice, it is after attachment of the beams to the ceiling 17 by threaded rods 14, 15, 16 that the plates such as 1.2 are secured to the beams,

  such as 5, 6, 7 by means of self-drilling screws such as 10.

  The clearances existing between all the adjacent edges of the plates are then filled using the binder, preferably by injection from

inside the room.

  Similarly, we fill the small depressions such as 10-1 at the level of

each screw head.

  After solidification of the binder, the excess thicknesses and beads formed are removed

  by this binder, by a fine grinding of the entire surface of the plates.

  A binder of sufficient fluidity is preferably used to wet the adjacent edges of the plates and to fill the gap as completely as possible,

  preferably in "V", between these edges over its entire length.

  Silicone-based binders give good results, in particular in the presence of rigid sheets of expanded PVC having, for example a density of the order

200.7.

  It is found, by using such plates and such binders, that internal walls according to the invention are obtained which are very robust, non-fragile and resistant to cracking. There is also an absence of delamination and cracking of the coatings

made on these plates.

  The example below and FIGS. 6 and 7 describe the production of an internal lateral wall according to the invention, with establishment of a connection between the edge

  upper wall and the adjacent edge of a false ceiling.

  Figure 6 schematically shows a side wall of rigid plates

  of plastic preferably made of expanded PVC.

  It is preferable to use plates 24, 25 having a height equal to that of

  wall to be made, that is to say for example 2.5 m and a width of about 1.2 m.

  These plates are joined together with beams such as 26, 27, 28 mounted

preferably vertically.

  As shown in Figure 7 which is a view, along F2 of a section of Figure 6, along the layout plane X2-X2, the beams such as 26, 27, 28, of the same section as the beams 5, 6 , 7, Figures 1, 2, 3, have ends such as 29, which engage inside two U-shaped sections 31, 32 which frame at the top and

below the partition.

  The two U-profiles are part of the bulkhead structure and the beams

  26, 27, 28 therefore become included in the structural components of this partition.

  As shown in Figure 7, the self-drilling screw 33, pressed into the top of the plate 24, provides a connection between the upper end 29 of the beam 26 and the

partition profile 31.

  Likewise at the lower end 30 of this same beam, the screw 33-1 ensures

  the connection between the plate 24, the beam 26 and the partition profile 32.

  It can be seen in FIG. 6 that the rigid plastic plates 24, 25 constituting the side wall are fixed to the partition profiles 31 and 32 by a row of self-drilling screws at the upper and lower ends of each plate and not

  only opposite the ends of each beam.

  Similarly, the connection between each beam and the plate which comes to bear against it, is provided by several self-drilling screws, distributed for example, every 0.4 m the

along each beam.

  Other arrangements of plates and beams can be provided, one can for example, arrange the plates transversely, the beams being able to keep or

not their vertical orientation.

  However, as shown in Figures 6 and 7, the possibility of connecting the edge of the false ceiling to the upper end of a single side plate has a

definite advantage.

  In the case of FIG. 6, the end zones 34, 35 of the two plates of the false ceiling are shown in section along a cutting plane parallel to the plane of

  this figure 6 whose trace X3-X3 is indicated in figure 7.

  As shown in Figure 6, the end zones 34, 35 of the false ceiling plates are held by a row of self-drilling screws, located in the cutting plane X3-X3, such as the screw 36 in Figure 7, which join these end zones

  with the horizontal wing 37, an angle.

  The vertical wing 39 is secured by screws such as 40 with a component of

  structure such as 41 of the side wall.

  FIG. 7 shows that the height of the false ceiling is adjusted so that the edges 42 of these end zones 34, 35 of the false ceiling are adjacent to the upper edges such as 38 of the side plates such as 24, 25 as example the upper edge 38 is cut at right angles, while the adjacent edge 42 is cut at about 45

  to form a V-shaped opening along the entire length of these edges.

  The narrow end of this V-shaped opening opens inwards, with a clearance of I to 5 mm. After final installation of the false ceiling and the side wall, a binder is injected into this V-shaped opening, preferably a silicone, over the entire length and likewise, each of the small depressions is filled with binder, such as 10- 1 trained in

  level of the screw heads, such as 10 in the wall of the plates such as 1.

  After setting the binder, a fine grinding final fine eliminates all the extra thickness from this binder. Although the present example relates to an interior wall, forming a false ceiling assigned to a lateral interior wall, it is understood

  only one of these walls can be produced.

  We also understand that we can cover several side walls or all the side walls of a room, with or without false ceiling by means of

  interior walls according to the invention.

  Despite the advantages described above, PVC, and in particular expanded PVC, it is understood that other expanded or unexpanded plastics can be used in the form of rigid plates for the production of interior walls,

  side or false ceiling, according to the invention.

  Although these interior walls are most often made in the form of flat plates, it is also possible to use rigid plates of expanded or unexpanded plastic material, having undergone a pleasant forming, for example for the realization of

  cornices located on the edge of a false ceiling.

  I1 is also possible, to use plates having undergone a more or less pronounced bending, and to use curved beams also to support these plates and to ensure the connection with a side wall or a ceiling tile although the beams which keep the rigid plastic plates mostly in galvanized steel, we can use other metals or alloys, for example,

  1 alloyed aluminum or not, or stainless steel.

  You can also use wood or plastic beams, although the examples and figures described above use self-drilling screws to secure the plastic plates with the beams, it is also possible

  to use suitable glues to achieve such joining.

  Such use is particularly advantageous when the beams are

  themselves in plastic or in component materials.

Claims (9)
