Abstract

Armchair with supporting fabric of the type comprising a frame having a base part, a seat part and a backrest part made from profiled elements allowing the positioning of the supporting fabric, the backrest part and the seat part having a U-shaped configuration open internally for the passage of said fabric, the chair being characterized in that it comprises two profiled caps (14 - 15) capable of fitting by fitting on the upper part (12c) of the backrest (12), and on the front part (11a) of the seat, and in that said caps are hollow (14a - 15a) internally and capable of receiving, by a transverse fixing (17), each of the ends (16a - 16b) of the supporting fabric (16) , and in that the end bands of the fabric are engaged in the thickness of the caps by being rolled up and resting on the corresponding transverse parts of the upper part of the backsplash and on the front part of e the seat.

CARRIER CANVAS ARMCHAIR

  The invention relates to the technical sector of armchairs and seats in general comprising a frame frame receiving a seat established in the form of a supporting fabric made of any woven or non-woven material. These armchairs or seats can constitute any type of furniture for the home, or for the garden, for leisure, and in general, for any private or public use. There is illustrated, according to the prior art, a non-limiting example of an armchair of this type. This seat includes a frame (1) forming a backsplash (2), seat (3) and base (4), with or without armrests. The frame can be made from profiled and bent tubular elements to define the outside shape of the chair. The seat can be formed using a supporting fabric (5) made of a woven or non-woven textile material, or by a texture of woven or non-woven plastic fibers, or by a plasticized fabric. This canvas has, for its fixing, at each of its ends, a gusset (2a - 2b) capable of allowing the passage of the corresponding parts of the frame, in its upper plane (2a) of the backsplash (2) or its plane front (3a) on the seat (3). Said fabric can be stretched, as shown in the drawings, to ensure a firm seat plan, this thanks to the use of an additional added gusset (6), allowing a folding of the canvas, on the one hand, and allowing , on the other hand, the insertion of a frame of the frame of said seat. The fabric can be flexible in the way commonly used for

  deckchairs. The backsplash can be fixed or articulated relative to the seat.

  These types of armchairs are commonly used but have certain drawbacks which are as follows: For armchairs having a stretched load-bearing fabric, it is often necessary to add a transverse support strip (7) in a material identical or similar to the fabric, this strip being arranged in front of the seat part of the seat frame. The purpose of this wide band is essentially to improve the comfort of the user and in particular to avoid undesired penetration and discomfort in the legs. This transverse strip is arranged with

  gussets (7a) allowing adaptation on the seat.

  It also happens, of course, that the fabrics can be damaged, worn, and it is therefore necessary to replace them. The removal operations do not

  are not always practical, depending on the configuration of the chairs.

  Furthermore, the aesthetics of the armchairs remain the same and therefore offer no

diversity for the user.

  The aim sought after according to the invention was to design a new load-bearing fabric armchair offering, on the one hand, a possibility of easy change of the fabric, and on the other hand an improvement in the comfort of the user, and in particular in level of

the headrest and leg support.

  Another sought-after goal was to design a load-bearing armchair offering a possibility of variation of its aesthetic according to the needs and tastes of

  user, while retaining its functionality.

  According to a first characteristic, the load-bearing fabric armchair is of the type comprising a frame having a base part, a seat part and a backsplash part formed from profiled elements allowing the positioning of the load-bearing fabric, the backsplash part and the seat part having a U-shaped configuration open internally for the passage of said fabric, the chair being remarkable in that it comprises two profiled covers capable of adjusting by fitting on the upper part of the backsplash, and on the front part of the seat , and in that said caps are hollow internally and capable of receiving, by a transverse fixing, each of the ends of the supporting fabric, and in that the end strips of the fabric are engaged in the thickness of the caps by being rolled up and coming to bear on the corresponding parts

  transverse from the upper part of the backsplash and on the front part of the seat.

  According to another characteristic, said caps are made in one piece in

a plastic material.

  These characteristics and others will become clear from the rest of the

description.

  To fix the object of the invention illustrated in a nonlimiting manner in the figures of the drawings o: * Figure 1 is a perspective view illustrating a load-bearing chair

  In order to make the object of the invention more concrete, it is now described

  in a nonlimiting manner illustrated in the figures of the drawings.

  The armchair according to the invention is referenced as a whole by (10). It includes a frame consisting of a seat (11) of a backsplash (12) and a base (13). There is shown, in a non-limiting embodiment, Figure 2, a chair of this type. The seat and the backsplash include a U-shaped or closed frame (1a - 12a) leaving an open interior area for the passage and positioning of the supporting fabric which can be mounted flexible or tensioned. The frames are produced for example from tubular profiles or other section, metallic or other suitable material. The base is of all types

known.

  The backsplash is thus arranged with a frame comprising at least two parallel longitudinal uprights (12a - 12b) connected by an upper transverse upright (12c) defining the height of the seat. Said longitudinal uprights are fixed, in any suitable and known manner, to the annex part of the chair. According to the invention, the chair comprises at least one and preferably two covers (14 - 15), one constituting the headrest (14) and therefore located in the upper part of the backrest, and the other constituting the 'leg support (15) and therefore located in the front part of the seat. These two caps are made in one piece from any suitable plastic or other material, and internally have a deep cavity (14a - 15a) capable of allowing their fitting on the upper part (12c) of the backrest and on the front part (11a) of the 'seated. These caps thus overlap the aforementioned areas. These caps are arranged on the inner and rear edges (14a - 14b) to receive, throughout their length, the fixing of one of the ends (16a-16b) of the supporting fabric (16). This fixation

  is established by sewing, by ultrasonic welding, by gluing, by self-

  grippers or others. This fixing is established over all or part of the width of the canvas. This attachment zone (17) is presented near the lower end of the cap,

  as shown in the drawings. This fixation can be final or temporary.

  s5 As it appears in the figures of the drawings, the positioning of the cap (14 -

  ) on the corresponding part (12a) of the backsplash (12) or on the front part (1a) of the seat, allows a strip (13) of canvas to be raised in the bottom of the cover by the pushing effect given by the transverse upright (12a) of the backsplash frame or the transverse upright (1a) of the seat. Thus, part of the strip of fabric at each of its ends is wound around the profile of said uprights.

  Thus, by this particular arrangement, the supporting fabric is perfectly maintained in two places combining their effects, on the one hand, by the area of attachment to the cover and, on the other hand, by the support and the tightening of the cover on the

  upper part of the backrest or front part of the seat. So there is a self-effect

jamming.

  The mounting of the caps is easy to carry out and to set up.

  According to the invention, it is therefore very easy, in the event of deterioration of the

canvas, change the whole.

  Another major advantage lies in the fact that the caps which form the headrest and leg support can be profiled to ensure the best comfort for the user. The shape of the leg support can be established with a curve

  appropriate to allow good comfort to the user.

  Incidentally, the caps may themselves have varied profiles

  allowing you to change the aesthetics of the chair.

  This set of headdresses with load-bearing canvas can be sold separately and can be adapted to any type of armchair with an open frame at the right

backsplash and seat.

  There is also shown, in Figure 3 of the drawings, a load-bearing canvas stretched by the addition of an additional gusset (6) capable of being fixed,

  in a known manner, on the rear part of the seat frame.

  The advantages emerge clearly from the invention. In particular, the

  simplicity of the whole and its easy adaptation.

Claims (5)

  -1- Armchair with load-bearing fabric of the type comprising a frame having a base part, a seat part and a backsplash part formed from profiled elements allowing the positioning of the load-bearing fabric, the backsplash part and the seat part having a configuration in U open internally for the passage of said fabric, the chair being characterized in that it comprises two profiled caps (14 - 15) capable of adjusting by fitting on the upper part (12c) of the backsplash (12), and on the front part (1a) of the seat, and in that said caps are hollow (14a - 15a) internally and capable of receiving, by a transverse fixing (17), each of the ends (16a - 16b) of the fabric carrier (16), and in that the end strips of the fabric are engaged in the thickness of the caps by being rolled up and coming to bear on the corresponding parts   transverse from the upper part of the backsplash and on the front part of the seat.   -2- Canvas chair according to claim 1, characterized in   that said caps are made in one piece from a plastic material.   -3- Canvas chair according to any one of claims 1 and 2,   characterized in that the two caps (14 - 15) constituting the headrest (14) and the leg support (15) have a deep cavity (14a - lSa) capable of allowing their fitting on the upper part (12c ) of the backsplash and on the front part (1la) of the seat, said caps being arranged on their lower edges (14b - 15b) and rear to receive, in their length, the fixing of one of the ends (16a 16b) of the supporting fabric, this fixing being established on   all or part of the width of the canvas.   -4- Chair canvas carrier according to claim 3, characterized in that the fixing of the ends of the canvas in the caps is carried out by sewing,   ultrasound, by gluing, by hook-and-loop or other means.   -5- Armchair with load-bearing fabric according to any one of claims   previous, characterized in that, after fitting the caps (14 15) on the corresponding part (12a) of the backsplash and / or on the front part (1a) of the seat, a strip of canvas is inserted into the bottom of the corresponding cover and surrounds the transverse upright of the backsplash frame and / or the transverse upright (1 la) of the seat, the strip of canvas being self-wedged between the bottom of the cover and the part   corresponding backrest or seat support.
