Abstract

The container, designed for use in a housing which has a room below the fireplace level, consists of a vertical housing (1) with its lower end situated in the lower room, e.g. a service room, while its upper end is adjacent to the fireplace. The housing contains an inner mobile horizontal platform which is moved up and down by means of polyurethane guide rollers, a pulley system (14) and a lifting unit (15). The platform is reinforced by stiffeners (17) on the underside, and it can be loaded via a door in the lower part of the casing.

Description

 The present invention relates to a device for supplying wood to a fireplace.

 Currently, the supply of wood necessary to supply a chimney is made up, either in a closed chest located near it, or in a storage niche provided on the front, or in a nearby utility room, or, most generally in a basket also used for transporting wood.

 In all cases, the transport of wood from its main storage location to the chimney poses a frequency problem because the volume of the supply is low, a cleaning problem, because the course, often long, is inevitably strewn with bark , dust, and footprints and finally a safety problem because the bulk of the load causes damage to wall coverings, doors, furniture, and exposes people to awkwardness. It is also sometimes tricky, cluttered with a load of wood, to sneak among his guests.

 The device according to the invention makes it possible, in the case of a house comprising several levels, to remedy these drawbacks. I1 in fact comprises, according to a first characteristic, a vertical box in which the horizontal plate rises and falls. The lower part of the box is located at the lower level of the house in a service room, the upper part of the box, through a crossing of the floor, opens at the upper level of the house near the chimney to be supplied. A vertical loading door allows the lower level to stack the wood up to the ceiling, on the movable tray placed in the low position. The movable platform is raised using a lifting device until the top of the stack of wood is accessible from the upper level. During the maneuver, the stack of wood rises by sliding on the lateral guide walls of the box. As needed, the user draws on the wood stock, and replenishes it using the lifting device. When the stock is exhausted, the mobile tray is lowered to the low position to allow a new load.

According to particular embodiments:
- The device for maneuvering the mobile platform is a conventional lifting, pulling or pushing device. It can be manual or motorized.

 - The guidance and the pulling of the mobile plate is unilateral in order to easily adapt the dimensions of the vertical box to the configuration of the site.

 - On the upper level, the receptacle can consist of a bottomless trunk that can be matched by dressing to the aesthetics of the fireplace. The receptacle can also be arranged in a storage niche integrated on the front of the structure of the fireplace, or in a cupboard.

 - The grip of the wood in the receptacle can be horizontal or vertical.

 - The receptacle may have a door, vertical or horizontal.

 - The sealing of the device is ensured in the lower part to avoid continuous drafts, and the air calls that would cause the opening of the door of the upper receptacle if it exists.

 With reference to these drawings, the device comprises, according to the embodiment shown, a vertical box (1) whose walls consist of panels (2) (3) (4) (5), and the loading door ( 6) extended in its upper part by one element (7).

 These reconstituted wood particle boards are reinforced in the external perimeter of the box by the metal profiles (8) (9).

 The profiles (9) ensure, in addition to the reinforcement of the walls (4) (5), the guiding of the polyurethane rollers (10) of the movable plate (11).

 The draw point (12) of the movable plate (11) circulates in the space reserved for this purpose between the walls (4) (5) of the box. The lifting cable (13) is returned by the pulley (14) to the lifting device (15), which is fixed on a plate (16) integral with the profiles (9).

 The stiffeners (17) ensure the rigidity of the movable plate (11).

Claims (7)

 1) Device for supplying the chimneys by drawing on a supply of wood, characterized in that it comprises  - a vertical box (1), the lower part of which is located at the lower level of the dwelling in a service room and the upper part opens out at the upper level of the dwelling near the chimney, by crossing the floor;  - a horizontal plate (11) which goes up and down in the box (1);  - a vertical loading door on the lower level allowing the stacking of wood on the tray;  - a lifting means to bring the top of the stack of wood to the upper level.  2) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the receptacle box is arranged in a storage niche integrated in front of the structure of the chimney, in an adjoining chest, in an independent chest, or in a closet.  3) Device according to either of claims 1 or 2 characterized in that the grip of the wood is horizontal or vertical.  4) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the movable plate is guided by polyurethane rollers (10).  5) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the draw point of the movable plate circulates in the space reserved between the walls (4) and (5) of the box.  6) Device according to claim 1 characterized in that the lifting cable is returned by the pulley (14) to the lifting device fixed on a plate (16) integral with the profiles (9).  7) device according to claim 1 in that the rigidity of the plate is provided by stiffeners (17).
