The present invention relates to a red rotating case mechanism

  lip and a method of manufacturing one of the parts of this mechanism. A rotating lipstick case mechanism is most often formed of five main parts: - a generally cylindrical outer body of circular section, - a base, constituting the underside of the case, and animated relative to the body of a rotation movement, without any translation being authorized between the base and the body, - a cursor carrying the lipstick stick, said cursor moving in ejection or in retraction in the case when the body and base relative to each other, the displacement of said cursor resulting from the cooperation of grooves, grooves and lugs, integral with said body, said base, and said cursor, - a spiral, generally cylindrical ,

  The case is covered with a closing cover. The body and base of the case are

  generally made of metal or plastic.

  The cursor, the spiral and the sheath are, in turn,

  mostly made of plastic.

  If you want the body to be made of metal, you use a plastic spiral inside the body. This mechanism has the disadvantage of being formed of five parts. Its realization is therefore relatively complex, and above all expensive. The object of the invention is to propose a new lipstick case mechanism, which has a reduced number of parts: three instead of five, particularly suited to the case where the body is metallic. This solution has the main advantage of simplifying the production of the mechanism and

lower costs.

  The invention also provides a new

  method of manufacturing the body of the mechanism.

  The mechanism according to the invention is characterized by a particular organization of means which cooperate to guide the movement of the cursor relative to the body and relative to the base, when said cursor is driven by the movement generated between said body and said base during how the mechanism works. These means essentially consist of: - grooves and first lugs, arranged facing the body and the cursor, to guide the movement of the cursor inside the body, - grooves and second lugs, distinct from the first lugs, arranged in look at the base and the cursor, to guide the movement of the cursor inside the base, - additional means of connection between the body and the base, which allow rotation and prevent any translation between said body and

said base.

  Referring first to FIG. 1, there is illustrated, according to a preferred embodiment, the constituent parts of a rotating lipstick case, identified as a whole 1. These constituent parts are a body 2, a base 3, and a cursor 4 carrying the lipstick grape 5. For

  Figures 2 and 3 illustrate the grooves, grooves and lugs belonging to the body 2, the base 3 and the slider 4, which cooperate to guide the movement

  of cursor 4 during operation of the mechanism.

  The operation is as follows: When the body 2 and the base 3 are rotated between his fingers relative to one another, the cursor 4 is driven in displacement both relative to the body 2 and relative at the base 3. The displacement of said cursor 4 takes place between two extreme positions which are the position of maximum ejection of the cursor (or position of distribution of the lipstick) and the position of maximum retraction of the cursor (or position of protection grapes

lipstick).

  As clearly indicated in FIGS. 2 and 3 of a preferred embodiment of the invention, the movement of the cursor 4 relative to the body 2 is guided by grooves 10 covering substantially the entire height of the interior surface of said body 2 , which cooperate with first lugs 11, arranged in

  look at the upper part of the cursor 4.

  In a first variant of the invention according to the illustrated embodiment, which is the subject of Figure 2, the movement of the cursor 4 relative to the base 3 is guided by grooves 12 formed on the cursor 4, which cooperate with second lugs 13, arranged on the upper part of the surface

interior of base 3.

  In a second variant of the invention according to the illustrated embodiment, which is the subject of Figure 3, the movement of the cursor 4 relative to the base 3 is guided by grooves 14 formed this time on the inner surface of the base 3, which cooperate with second lugs 15, arranged this

  times on the lower part of the cursor 4.

  The stroke height of the second lugs 13,

  It should be noted that in the second variant of the invention, according to the illustrated embodiment, the cursor 4 is provided in total with four lugs: two first lugs 11, arranged on its upper part, and two second lugs 15 arranged on its lower part. The second lugs 15 are distinct from the

first pins 11.

  Still according to the preferred embodiment, and in its two variants, the grooves 10, the first lugs 11, the grooves 12, 14, and the second lugs 13, 15, were all chosen in number from two, and diametrically opposed on the parts, 2, 3, 4, constituting the case 1 to which they belong; such a "diametral" solution

  has the advantage of good balancing.

  We could be satisfied with a single groove 10 on the body 2 cooperating with a single first lug 11 on the slider 2, and with a single groove 12, 14, cooperating with a single second lug 13, 15, between the base 3 and the cursor 4. One could also consider grooves 10, first pins 11, grooves 12, 14, and second pins 13, 15, in higher numbers, the limit then being imposed by

  considerations of space, cost and interest.

  Still according to the illustrated embodiment, the grooves 10 formed on the body 2 are rectilinear, and cover substantially the entire height of the interior surface of said body. The grooves 12, 14, formed respectively on the slider 4 (first variant) and on the base 3 (second variant) are in turn helical. We could have considered helical grooves 10 and grooves 12, 14, vertical. One could also have envisaged helical grooves 10 and grooves 12, 14, also helical, but of different pitch. Whatever the embodiment envisaged as regards the shape of the grooves 10 and grooves 12, 14, it is necessary to choose their dimensions so that the smallest of the heights Hi or H2 is equal to the stroke C of the lipstick grape between the maximum retraction position of the cursor and the maximum ejection position

  of the cursor, which are illustrated in Figure 4.

  Another essential characteristic of the invention is that the complementary means of connection between the body 2 and the base 3 comprise a locking rod 16 cooperating with a groove

circular 17 opposite.

  This connection between the body 2 and the base 3

  is illustrated on a larger scale in FIG. 5.

  Still according to the preferred embodiment of the invention, the rod 16 is produced near the lower edge of the interior surface of the body 2, and the circular groove 17 is produced near the edge

  upper surface of the base 3.

  When the parts are assembled, the rod 16 is forced into the groove 17. As a result, any relative translation between the body 2 and

base 3 is made impossible.

  The cooperation of the rod 16 and the groove 17 allows the relative rotation of the body 2 of the base 3

  during operation of the holster mechanism 1.

  The subject of the invention is also a method of manufacturing a body 2 of a lipstick case mechanism 1 as previously described. This process comprises different stages which are preferably linked in the manner which will be described and which is illustrated in FIGS. 6a to 6f

  attached. But the description of the different stages of the

  process should in no way be considered as limiting, in particular with regard to the order

  steps and separation of steps.

  First of all, as shown in FIG. 6a, we start with a part 20 in the form of a tube with circular section, of length L, and thickness E. This part 20 is open at one of its ends and

  closed at the other end by a bottom 21.

  Is carried out, as illustrated in FIG. 6b, a first operation of pushing back the bottom 21 to turn the piece 20 in a thermowell, by bending its wall inward over a significant distance D1, less than the height L of the piece , and thereby creating two concentric walls, one internal 22 and the other external 23, the external wall 23 being longer than the internal wall 22, the two walls 22, 23, being interconnected by a rounded edge 24 , and the bottom 21 being moved from one to

  the other of the ends of the part 20.

  Preferably, the distance D1 is between half and 4/5 of the total height of the

Exhibit 20.

  Then, as illustrated in FIG. 6c, a second pushing operation is carried out to form a shoulder 25 on the internal wall 22 of the

  piece 20 which is adjacent to the aforementioned rounded edge 24.

  This second push-back operation is carried out on

  a distance D2 of a few millimeters.

  Then, as illustrated in FIG. 6d, a third stamping operation is carried out which has the effect of forming grooves 26 in the internal wall 22 of the part 20, over the entire height of said internal wall 22. These grooves 26, in accordance with the embodiment of the mechanism described above, will form the grooves 10 of the body 2 intended to guide the movement of the first pins

11 of cursor 4.

  The tool allowing this machining operation has the same main diameter as the tool of the first embossing operation. It is also provided with protruding reliefs intended to form the

splines 26.

  According to the illustrated manufacturing method, the grooves 26 are two in number, and diametrically opposite. One could of course envisage a different number and distribution of said grooves 26. A fourth punching operation is carried out at the same time and with the same tool, as illustrated in FIG. 6d, to cut out the bottom 21 of the part 20. The stroke of the tool, denoted D3, is greater than the length of the

external wall 23 of the part 20.

  Finally, as illustrated in FIG. 6, a fifth rolling operation is carried out between two dies 27, 28, from the end of the part 20 which is opposite to the aforementioned rounded edge 24. This operation has the effect of forming a circular relief 29 on the inner surface of the external wall 23 of the part 20. According to the manufacturing method illustrated, this circular relief 29 is hollow on the external surface of the external wall 23 of the piece 20 and projecting from the inner surface of said wall

external 23.

  In accordance with the embodiment of the mechanism described above, this circular relief 29 forms a locking rod 16 which cooperates with a circular groove 17 located opposite on the base 3 to allow rotation and prevent any translation

between the body 2 and said base 3.

  Conversely, this circular relief 29 could be a groove intended to cooperate with a

  rod placed this time on base 3.

  In FIG. 6f is illustrated the final part obtained at the end of the successive stages of the process described. It will form the mechanism body 2

of case 1 of lipstick.

  According to the manufacturing method illustrated, a third stamping operation was carried out having the effect of forming grooves 26 on the body, by repelling material. We could also have considered a variant of this process. This consists in performing a third stamping operation which this time would have the effect of cutting grooves in place of the grooves 26 on

  the body, by removal of matter.

  The tool used in this variant would be

  then provided with salient and sharp reliefs.

  Obviously, we could have grouped certain steps of the process described, or chain them in a different order so as to obtain the same final part (figure 6f) starting from the same part.

  For example, the fourth stamping operation could have been completely separated from the

  third grooving operation of the grooves 26.

  In this eventuality, one could choose to form grooves 26 shorter than the grooves 26 previously described, and which would not travel

  the entire height of the internal wall 22.

  The previously described process applies

  advantageously to the manufacture of a metal body 2.

Claims (11)

  1.- Case mechanism (1) turning lipstick, of the type comprising: an external body (2), - a base (3) constituting the underside of the case (1), - and a slider (4 ), carrying the lipstick stick (5), said cursor (4) moving in ejection and in retraction in the case (1) when the body (2) and the base (3) are rotated. 'relative to each other, the displacement of said cursor (4) resulting from the cooperation of grooves, grooves and lugs, integral with said body (2), said base (3), and said cursor (4) , characterized in that it comprises: - grooves (10) and first lugs (11), arranged facing the body (2) and the cursor (4) to guide the movement of the cursor (4) inside of the body (2), - grooves (12, 14) and second lugs (13, 15) distinct from the first lugs (11), arranged facing the base (3) and the slider (4) to guide the movement of the cursor (4) inside the base (3), - and complementary means connecting elements between the body (2) and the base (3), which allow rotation and prevent any translation between said body (2) and said base (3).   2.- holster mechanism (1) rotating lipstick according to claim 1, characterized in that the body (2) comprises at least one groove (10) rectilinear and parallel to the axis of said body (2), in which a first aforementioned lug (11) moves opposite the cursor (4), and said slider (4) comprises at least one helical groove (12) in which a second aforementioned lug (13) moves there provided 2742028 opposite the base (3).   3.- holster mechanism (1) rotating lipstick according to claim 1, characterized in that the body (2) comprises at least one groove (10) rectilinear and parallel to the axis of said body (2), in which a first aforementioned lug (11) moves opposite the cursor (4), and the base (3) comprises at least one helical groove (14) in which a second aforementioned lug (15) moves   placed opposite the cursor (4).   4.- holster mechanism (1) rotating lipstick according to claim 2 or claim 3, characterized in that the body (2) comprises two grooves (10) rectilinear, diametrically opposite, and covering substantially the entire height of the internal surface of said body (2), and the slider (4) is provided with two aforementioned first pins (11), diametrically opposite, and arranged on the upper part of the external surface of said slider (4), said grooves (10 ) being intended to guide the movement of said first abovementioned pins (11).   5. Case mechanism (1) rotating lipstick according to claim 2 and claim 4, characterized in that the base (3) is provided with two second aforesaid second lugs (13), diametrically opposite, placed on the inner surface of said base (3) to   a height between half and three-   quarters of the total height of said base (3), and the slider (4) comprises two helical grooves (12), diametrically opposite and arranged on the outer surface of said slider (4) the height of said grooves (12) being such that the second aforementioned lugs (13) come into abutment at the top of said grooves (12) when the cursor (4) is in the maximum retraction position in the case (1).   6.- holster mechanism (1) rotating lipstick according to claim 3 and claim 4, characterized in that the slider (4) is provided with two aforementioned second lugs (15), diametrically opposite, and placed on the lower part of the outer surface of said slider (4), and the base (3) comprises two helical grooves (14), diametrically opposite, and arranged on the inner surface of said base (3), the height of said grooves (14) being such that said aforementioned second lugs (15) come into abutment at the bottom of said grooves (14) when the cursor (4) is in the position of maximum retraction in the case (1).   7.- Case mechanism (1) turning red   lip according to any one of claims   above, characterized in that the complementary means of connection between the body (2) and the base (3) comprise a locking ring (16)   cooperating with a circular groove (17) opposite.   8.- Method of manufacturing a body (2) of a case mechanism (1) turning lipstick   according to any one of the preceding claims,   characterized in that it consists, starting from a metal part (20) in the form of a tube with circular cross section, turning it over as a thermowell over a certain length and forming in the inverted inner wall guide grooves (10).   9.- Method of manufacturing a body (2) of the case mechanism (1) rotating lipstick according to claim 8, characterized in that it comprises the following successive steps: - starting from a part (20) in the form of a circular section tube, open at one of its ends and closed at the other end by a bottom (21), - a first operation of pushing the bottom (21) is carried out to turn the part over (20) in 13 2742028   thermowell, by bending its wall inwards over a significant distance, and thus creating two concentric walls, one internal (22) and the other external (23), the external wall (23) being longer that the internal wall (22), the two walls (22, 23) being interconnected by a rounded edge (24), and the bottom (21) being moved from one towards the other of the ends of the part ( 20), - a second pushing operation is carried out to form a shoulder (25) on the part of the internal wall (22) of the part (20) which is adjacent to the aforementioned rounded edge (24), - a third is carried out stamping operation to form grooves (26) in the internal wall (22) of the part (20), over the entire height of the internal wall (22) of the part (20), said grooves (26) forming the grooves (10) of the body (2), - a fourth punching operation is carried out to cut the bottom (21), - a fifth is performed e rolling operation to form a circular relief (27) on the inner surface of the external wall (23) of the part (20).   10.- A method of manufacturing a body (2) of the case mechanism (1) rotating lipstick according to claim 8 or 9, characterized in that the first pushing operation is carried out over a distance between half and 4/5 of the total height of the workpiece (20).   11.- Case mechanism (1) turning red   Lip according to any one of claims 1 to   7, and the body (2) of which is obtained by means of the process   any one of claims 8 to 10,   characterized in that said body (2) is metallic.
