Abstract

  Walking element for sidewalk or escalator.

  The present invention relates to a walking element for sidewalk or escalator, comprising a foot support plate for receiving the person to be transported, this plate comprising, in the vicinity of at least one of its

  longitudinal edges, a rim which is fixed to it.

  It is already known to provide walking elements with external edges, their attachment to the walking element at

  a pair of screws, envisaged over a period of

  prolonged use, unsuitable for hard operating conditions and ruptures of rims or jamming of rims

  between two elements of the moving sidewalk or the red staircase

its two longitudinal edges.

  As shown in Figure 1, the step element 1 (called stairlift step in the suite) of the escalator shown has a foot support plate 2 for receiving the person to carry. The plate 2 has flanges 3, 4 and 5 which are embedded therein and

are fixed.

  The flanges 3 and 5, relatively strongly exposed, are shaped, as shown in Figures 2 and 4, so as to hook along their two longitudinal edges 3a, 3b, respectively 5a, 5b, along their entire length, below

  of a part 6 and 7, respectively 8 and 9 of the march of es-

  1 and thus to be fixed along their two outer edges 3a and 3b, respectively 5a and 5b, along their entire length, to the step 1. In addition, screws are provided

  which rigidly connect to the plate 2 the flanges 3,

  As shown in FIG. 2, the front flanges 3 are shaped to embrace at an angle the

  anterior longitudinal edge of the surface of the plate 2,

  It is also possible, of course, to use, instead of screws 10, other fastening elements such as, for example,

  edges, which, after having been introduced into perforations preformed correspondingly in the walking element,

  deform under the effect of heat at their

  It is known to provide the tray 2, in its outer areas, with colored markers that indicate to the person to be transported that it must avoid as much as possible these outer areas of the plateau of the march. These landmarks formed by

  coloring, however, have the disadvantage that their visibility

  is very sharply reduced relatively rapidly because of

  its of applied color wear.

  To avoid it while still having the opportunity to form the outer zones of the plate 2 in one piece, during the die casting process, with the rest of
