Description

The present invention relates to a new type of wall intended for the construction of so-called "prefabricated" dwellings, and which presents, compared to the walls already known for this application, significant advantages, both technically and economically. .

In walls already known of this type, and in particular those described by the applicant in French patents 73 and 79 04497, the manufacturing process consists in first of all pouring over a lattice frame an external concrete wall having wings transverse between which are determined volumes filled with expanded polystyrene, ensuring thermal and sound insulation of the wall, the whole being enclosed by an inner concrete wall also reinforced by a wire mesh.

Although this construction gives all satisfaction from the point of view of mechanical characteristics, it still posed some problems, in particular that of the corrosion of the wire mesh, which, embedded in the concrete cannot be controlled, as well as that of the weight of this mesh. , whose accumulation is not negligible in a construction of large dimensions.

The invention relates to a new wall in which these problems are completely eliminated, thanks to the use of a composite material consisting of ordinary concrete in which are embedded polyethylene fibers, which ensure the reinforcement of the wall and allow remove the wire mesh, and obtain the same solidity for a very reduced thickness and weight.

The invention therefore relates firstly to a wall characterized in that it consists of two thin concrete walls reinforced with polyethylene fibers, the space between these two walls being lined with expanded polystyrene.

The invention also relates to a process for the manufacture of these walls, consisting in dry mixing of aggregates and cement for the formation of concrete with poly fibers.
3 ethylene in the proportion of 1 kg of fiber per m of concrete, then add the usual amount of water for the considered amount of cement and pour this composite material to form the first face of a wall, then put in place blocks of expanded polystyrene intended to insulate this wall between ribs determining the thickness of the wall and finally to flow over the same composite material to constitute the second face of the wall.

Preferably steel bars, possibly prestressed, will be stretched lengthwise in the composite material to avoid shrinkage of the concrete and cracking on drying.

The joints preferably of trapezoidal section between the elements of successive walls, constituting a partition, will be made with adhesive mortar instead of concrete, which also ensures better bonding and good sealing.

Such a wall is much thinner and lighter than the previous walls. -It is also better insulator with equal thickness. It is no longer subject to any corrosion phenomenon:
the only metal frame retained is that of the vertical bars with mouths in lifting views.

In practice, to obtain I cubic meter of the new concrete according to the invention, 1 kg of polyethylene fibers are dry mixed with I cubic meter of aggregates and cements and after 2 to 4 minutes water is added. necessary and the concrete is poured in the usual way.
