Abstract
Description
The invention relates to interlocking tile roofing, the tiles of which comprise a curved part and an adjacent trapezoidal flat part, whatever the position and the dimensions of each of these parts.
According to the invention, the longitudinal edges of the flat parts of the tiles of the sub-ridge row are situated outside the curved parts of the tiles of the underlying row.
This arrangement makes it possible to choose at will the degree of overlap of the tiles of the underlying row by the tiles of the sub-laying row whereas in the known covers it is necessary to provide under-roof tiles and half-under tiles. ridge tiles, the choice between these two types of tiles being made according to the available gauge of the sub-ridge.
The invention therefore makes it possible to accommodate a single length of sub-ridge tiles instead of having to provide sub-ridge tiles of a certain length and sub-ridge tiles of a half length.
- la figure 2 est une vue similaire, les tuiles de la rangée adjacente étant rentrées à moitié sous les tuiles de la rangée sous-faîtière ;
The invention will be better understood with reference to the figures of the attached drawing in which
- Figure 1 is a top view of a fraction of cover according to the invention showing two tiles of the sub-ridge row and two tiles of the adjacent row
- Figure 2 is a similar view, the tiles of the adjacent row being tucked in half under the tiles of the sub-ridge row;
FIG. 3 is a bottom view of a sub-ridge tile according to the invention, and
- Figure 4 is a bottom view of a conventional sub-ridge tile.
The roof tiles each have a curved part 1 and an adjacent flat part 2.
In the upper part, the tiles are provided with a transverse interlocking device 3. The common tiles of the roof, that is to say for example the tiles of the row
adjacent to the sub-ridge row further comprise a longitudinal interlocking device 4. These arrangements are known per se.
In accordance with the invention, the curve of the tiles of the sub-ridge row is deformed on the side opposite to the flat part 2 to cover a space 5 which would be outside the curve if it had its normal shape and this space 5 is intended to accommodate the rim 6 of the flat part 2 of the adjacent sub-ridge tile as seen in FIG. 1.
Figures 3 and 4 are bottom views respectively of a sub-ridge tile according to the invention and a known sub-ridge tile. It will be noted in these figures that according to another feature of the sub-roof tile of the invention, this tile is devoid of transverse interlocking device on the underside of its front end 7 while the known roof tile has at this location a device 'cross fitting 8.
A sub-ridge tile according to the invention therefore has this double feature of having a curve in two stages which is best distinguished in Figure 3 where there is shown by A the main curve intended to receive sliding the curved part of the underlying tile and B the lateral curve intended to slide the edge of the flat part of the adjacent sub-ridge tile and to be devoid of transverse interlocking device at the front end of the tile.
It is for this double particularity that the sub-ridge tile must be able to slide the tile of the row placed below, this sliding allowing the tile placed below any desired position between a position where the gauge of the tile placed below is maximum (Figure 1) and a position where this purge is substantially reduced to half (Figure 2).
