Abstract

The work platform consists of hollow rectangular pontoons (1, 2, 3, &4) for buoyancy. Steel joists (8, 9, 10&11) sandwich the assembly together, and have skid plates (18, 19) fitted to the bottom set. A platform is fitted to the stop set of joists to allow mounting of machinery including cranes and excavators. Anchors (20, 21) are provided at each corner, and are attached to the platform by cablese (22, 23). The platform is for use in tidal rivers, estuaries, etc., able to sit on the bottom at low water, and becoming buoyant as the water level rises.
