Abstract

PURPOSE:To easily fabricate the legs of a marine structure by a method in which upper split legs are fabricated on a working platform, lower split legs are delivered with the working platform to a given sea area, the lower split legs are pulled up to the working platform, and these split legs are integrally combined. CONSTITUTION:Each leg is divided into at least two, or an upper split leg 3a and a lower split leg 3b, and they are separately manufactured. The upper split leg 3a is built in the leg driving chamber 2 of a working platform 1, and the working platform 1 and the lower split leg 3b are put on a barge 5 and towed. Then, water si charged into the barge 5 to float the working platform 1 and the lower split leg 3b, and sea water is charged into a spud 4 to vertically move the lower split leg 3b in such a way as to turn the spud 4 downwardly. A wire rope 6 is wound up by a winch to pull up the loer split leg 3b, and its upper end is contacted with the lower end of the upper split leg 3a. The upper and lower split legs 3a and 3b are integrally lifted up and their contact portions are combined fixedly on the working platform 1.
