Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the energy of waves coming into wave-breaking spaces and reduce the influence of waves on a floating structure such as marine tableland, by a method wherein wave-breaking spaces and opening portions communicated therewith are provided between a superstructure and float portions.
CONSTITUTION: Cylindrical floats 1 are arranged laterally at a pitch P and a surperstructure 2 is arranged above the floats 1, to constitute a floating structure. The structure 2 is spaced from the floats 1 by a distance H, so that it is not applied with wave pressure. The floats 1 are connected with each other by lateral joint members arranged longitudinally at proper intervals, so that the floats 1 and the joint members constitute a lattice structure to form opening portions. When waves come into the spaces between the structure 2 and the floats 1 through the opening portions, the energy of the waves is reduced.
