Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de production de polymères d' alpha -oléfines, qui permet de régler la répartition du poids moléculaire dans une gamme plus étroite, avec un rendement plus élevé et une cristallinité meilleure des produits. L'invention concerne également un catalyseur utilisé dans ce procédé. Le constituant solide du catalyseur est obtenu en faisant réagir un halogénure d'un métal trivalent avec un hydroxyde, un oxyde, un carbonate d'un métal divalent, un composé double contenant l'un quelconque de ces composés ou un hydrate d'un composé contenant un métal divalent, afin de produire un produit solide I; en faisant réagir un ou plusieurs donneurs d'électrons et un ou plusieurs accepteurs d'électrons, séparément ou simultanément, en 1 à 10 stades, mais en utilisant TiCl4 comme accepteur d'électrons dans au moins un de ces stades, avec le produit solide I afin d'obtenir un produit solide II; puis en combinant un composé d'organo aluminium et un donneur d'électrons avec le produit solide II.
