Abstract

Ce dispositif comporte un élément catalyseur monolithique 6 percé de passages longitudinaux et logé dans une coquille 7, laquelle est raccordée à deux tuyaux d'échappement amont 2 et 3 et à un tuyau d'échappement aval 4. Un diffuseur 37 est monté sur une entretoise 36 qui renforce la coquille, en amont du point de croisement des axes des orifices d'entrée de cette dernière et comporte deux faces en U placées de manière à être frappées obliquement par les gaz. Le diffuseur est percé d'une série de trous qui correspondent à peu près à la moitié de sa surface de manière à répartir uniformément les gaz d'échappement sur toute la face avant de l'élément catalyseur 6.
