Abstract

The attachment method is for comparatively large components dissipating considerable heat, such as output transistors to P.C.B's. The method ensures a good electrical and thermal connection between the P.C.B, heat sink and transistor and permits exchange of component without unsoldering. The component is secured by, normally, two bolts which have an unthreaded shaft section (6) flattened in one plane forming two wings (9). Securing holes (10) in the P.C.B and heat sink are shaped to take the wings preventing rotation of the bolts. Each bolt has a particularly flat head which is soldered to the P.C.B metalising.
