Abstract

The unit is self-contained and is fitted below a postal packet sorting conveyor to remove dust particles. It comprises a sound-deadened housing (1, 13), the top surface (3) being perforated to permit the dust laden air to flow through removable filters (14). The clean air passes over the curved baffle (32) and into a chamber (9). It then enters a circular throat restriction (27) and through the turbine fan (14) driven by the electric motor (23). The air finally passes through a silencer (35) and is exhausted through a perforated screen (7). Direct flow through the unit reduces the noise level generated by the passage of the air.
