Abstract
PURPOSE: To provide an arrangement for electric cleaner, in which a suction port for introducing dust compressing air is formed at a portion in the outer surface of dust collecting chamber, and dust collected in the chamber is compressed by driving an electric fan with said suction port being opened, whereby it is enabled to increase dust collecting capacity of the cleaner with no use of any special means other than the electric fan.
CONSTITUTION: A suction port 15 for introducing dust compressing air is provided at a portion in the outer surface of dust collecting chamber 6, located on a line perpendicular to the line connecting filter 10, 11 and dust drawing port 7. The port 15 is provided with a cover 14 which is slidable laterally and has an opening area larger than that of the port 7, so that air resistance through the port 15 is lower than that through port 7. In cleaning operation while keeping port 15 closed, dust containing air is collected concentratedly at the front surface of filter 10, 11. In this state, if port 15 is opened, wind velocity from port 7 to filter 10, 11 is decreased and dust collected on the front surface of filter 10, 11 is blown downward by the influence of air drawn from port 15. By the wind pressure acted at the time, dust is compressed at a portion in the chamber 6 located downwardly of filter 10, 11 and port 7.
