Abstract
PURPOSE: To collect fine dusts and rainwater in a cooling air by providing a guide element connecting a draft chamber and a dust collecting chamber to a side wall in a dustproof apparatus which is mounted to a cooling air sucking port of a rotary electric machine and the like to separate dust and the like.
CONSTITUTION: The dust and rainwater passing a strainer 7 and moved upwardly along with a cooling air while gradually accerelated and the greater part of dusts and water drops having a relatively high density are moved along the inner peripheral surface of an outer wall 4 while forced to the inner peripheral surface of the outer wall 4 by the centrifugal force. These dusts, water drops and the like are introduced into a dust collecting chamber 12, 12A through a guide element 19 and the dust removed cooling air is exhausted from a exhausting port 1B. Further, the guide element 19 is connected such that the opening edge 9A is positioned lower than the curved portion 5A of the wall 4 and the dusts and water drops introduced into U shaped through 20 can be introduced to the direction of the opening edge 9A.
