Abstract

The solar panels are mounted on a frame on a roof at an inclination of 45 deg. The solar heater is operated in conjunction with gas, fuel oil or electricity heaters. The system comprises a boiler with at least two heat sources and a hot water tank. Insulated copper pipes carry the water heated in the solar panels to the hot water tank and to the central heating tank or directly into the radiator circuit. The flow is controlled by 3-way valves which are electrically operated and respond to the information provided by the temp. probes. When the external temp. drops 2 seg. in relation to the storage temp. the solar heating circuit is automatically sealed off and alternative heating methods are employed.
