Abstract

1534848 Solar heaters SOLAR ENERGY DYNAMICS CORP 20 July 1977 30438/77 Heading F4U A solar heater comprises a fibre-glass housing 10 provided with a thermally insulating base layer 11 of urethane covered by black roofing felt which supports a flat array of copper tubing formed with contiguous turns in the form of a spiral, which may have rectangular or elliptical coils. The array comprises an outer plurality of turns connected in series with an inner plurality of turns, the tubing in the outer turns 15a having a diameter which is greater than that of the tubing in the inner turns 15b. An inlet and outlet for heat transfer liquid are connected to the outer turn of the outer plurality of turns and to the inner turn of the inner plurality of turns, respectively. Copper sheets 20, 22 may be provided beneath portions of the array.
