Abstract

Procédé de purification d'air contenant de l'oxyde de carbone, catalyseurs utilisés dans ce but, et nouveaux produits ainsi obtenus. L'air à purifier est amené à passer à travers un catalyseur favorisant l'oxydation de l'oxyde de carbone, se composant d'un support comprenant du carbone activé en poudre, un alcali et un liant, et imprégné par un ou plusieurs des éléments ruthénium, rhodium et platine ou avec du palladium seul; la quantité d'alcali est telle qu'il y a un risque réduit de combustion dû à la présence de carbone activé, et le liant rend le catalyseur plus résistant à la vibration. La présente invention est particulièrement utile pour fournir un procédé d'enlèvement d'oxyde de carbone à partir d'air avec obtention de taux élevés d'enlèvement de carbone pour des températures comparativement faibles et des taux élevés d'écoulement d'air à travers le catalyseur.
