Abstract

Structural panels are formed by spaced, parallel wooden joists interconnected by stabilising members and clad by external sheets. Opposite edges of the panels are provided with metallic fittings which are protected by releasable tapes and arranged for interfitting with corresp. fittings on adjacent panels during assembly of e.g. a wall. Fitting is provided with a groove which may be coated with an adhesive for reception of a projecting rib on a fitting. Panels may be provided with a decorative finish such as pine needles bonded to the surface of the panels with a tannin-formaldehyde resin. Panels which lead to dimensionally stable structures may be provided with openings for water supply lines, electricity supply cables, etc.
