Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé de préparation d'électrocorindo fondu. On fait fondre dans un four à arc électrique a de l'alumine commerciale ayant des teneurs en alcalis se situant entre 0,05 et 0,60 % en poids et des teneurs en Al2 O3 supérieures à 95 % en poids, b du SiO2 , par exemple du sable de quartz, et c éventuellement des alcalis, on refroidit et broie la masse fondue de façon connue, puis on sépare mécaniquement et/ou chimiquement la phase vitreuse formée. Applications usuelles.
