Abstract

L'invention concerne un procédé pour l'oxydation de substances organiques dissoutes ou dispersées dans un système aqueux par un gaz contenant de l'oxygène moléculaire à temperature et sous pression élevées, principalement en dioxyde de carbone et eau, avec séparation ultérieure de phases du mélange de réaction en une phase gazeuse contenant essentiellement un gaz inerte, du dioxyde de carbone, de la vapeur d'eau et des fractions organiques et une phase liquide contenant essentiellement de l'eau. Le procédé de l'invention est caractérisé en ce que l'on ajuste la pression à une température donnée de telle manière que, par évaporation de l'eau du système aqueux, une quantité de vapeur d'eau supérieure à celle résultant de la chaleur dégagée par la réaction d'oxydation passe dans la phase gazeuse que l'on envoie dans un échangeur de chaleur 2 dans lequel la quantité de chaleur nécessaire au maintien de la temperature de l'oxydation est partiellement ou totalement transférée à un mélange d'eau et d'un gaz contenant de l'oxygène moléculaire pénétrant à l'autre extrémité de l'échangeur de chaleur 2 et envoyé ensuite au réacteur 1.
