Abstract

La présente invention a pour objet, à titre de produits industriels nouveaux, des antibiotiques antitumoraux de type anthracycline glycoside Elle se rapporte également à un procédé pour la préparation et l'isolement de ces produits, aux compositions pharmaceutiques les contenant et aux méthodes d'emploi desdits antibiotiques en tant qu'agents antibactériens et antitumoraux. L'invention se rapporte plus particulièrement à de nouveaux antibiotiques de type anthracycline glycoside désignés, dans la présente description et dans les revendications auxquelles elle donne lieu, par les termes de rhodirubine A et rhodirubine B. Ces antibiotiques sont obtenus par culture d'une souche de Streptomyces productrice de rhodirubine dans un milieu nutritif aqueux, dans des conditions aérobies submergées, jusqu'à obtention d'une quantité substantielle de rhodirubine par ledit microorganisme dans ce milieu de culture et, éventuellement, isolément de la rhodirubine du milieu de culture.
