Abstract

Cellule d'affichage à cristaux liquides nématiques en hélice comportant au moins une couche de SiO formée par évaporation oblique sur une surface principale pour fournir une certaine inclinaison dans l'alignement de la directrice nématique par rapport au plan de la surface. L'invention utilise un angle d'évaporation oblique de 5 degrés qui fournit une inclinaison trop forte et réduit la vitesse de réponse de la cellule. L'angle d'inclinaison est ensuite réduit par formation d'une seconde couche de SiO déposée par evaporation oblique à 30 degrés après avoir fait tourner le substrat 10 de 90 degrés dans son plan (permutation ABDC). En variante, l'inclinaison peut être réduite en recouvrant la première couche d'un agent tensio-actif ou de silice déposée en phase vapeur, fournissant un alignement homogène, le parallélisme de l'alignement dû à la première couche étant conservé.
