Abstract

Selon l'invention, on calcine à une température d'environ 800 à 1 100 degrés C un mélange du chromate de métal alcalin avec le sulfate d'ammonium en proportions d'environ 0,7 à 0,89 fois la quantité équimoléculaire; on sépare ensuite l'oxyde de chrome-III formé et le sel de métal alcalin. On évite ainsi l'utilisation de matières premières elles-mêmes à faible teneur en soufre et qui sont coûteuses.
