Abstract

La présente invention concerne un procédé de production de coke de pétrole fortement cristallisé. Il consiste à traiter à chaud une matière de départ de pétrole en présence de soufre dissous ajouté, puis à chauffer pour réaliser un craquage thermique réglé de cette matière, à séparer les substances non cristallisées sous forme de brai, à récupérer un résidu lourd cokéfiable de la matière ne contenant plus de brai et à soumettre ce résidu à une cokéfaction différée. Le coke obtenu convient notamment pour la fabrication d'électrodes en graphite, par exemple pour les fours électriques d'élaboration d'acier.
