Abstract

The protection is intended against atmospheric interference picked up by the antenna. A miniature rod conductor (41), or a protective spark gap, or a discharge path, is incorporated in a sealed sleeve (1) under gas atmosphere in a plug-in connector. Preferably the sealed sleeve is in the form of a gas discharge tube, in which at least one of the two metal electrodes (41, 42) is directly sealed into the glass bulb, or similar insulating material bulb. Preferably the two electrodes are at a small distance forming discharge path of 0.001 to 0.1 mm length. The protective device can be contained in a housing whose outer wall is insulating and inner conductive. A middle conductor, parallel to the centre axis, has one end connected to a plug and its other end in a coupling or socket.
