FIG.1 A flexible connection between two axiallyaligned conductors, one 10 sealed in the glass wall of a discharge tube and the other 5 movable with respect to this wall in the direction of its length, comprises a strip 11 of sheet metal rolled around and secured to one conductor and having a projecting tongue 12 secured to the other conductor which extends about half way along the rolled-up strip. As shown, the connection is made between a molybdenum cathode-heater lead and its terminal in a magnetron for use in the 4 mm. band. Suitable dimensions for the molybdenum connecting strip 11 are given, Fig. 2 (not shown). The other heater lead comprises a molybdenum tube 4 connected to an envelope portion 8 of nickel-iron alloy.
