Abstract

The patient is seated in a chair (351) forming part of the apparatus and is strapped (352) in place. A head rest (301) is applied to the neck area and the patient presses back against the force of a tensioned rubber cord (307). One end of this cord is fixed (314) behind the chair and the other end (308) to a tension adjuster (309, 310) in a frame (302). The lower end of this frame pivots (303) on the chassis (315), near floor level, the cord passing over pulleys (311, 312) inside. The chassis can be anchored using a plate (317) under a door edge (323), the pivot being adjustable (321) for distance from the chair.
