Abstract

The equipment gives selective dynamic traction of the spine of a patient stretched out on a horizontal support, his trunk and buttocks resting on two plates sliding on a frame. It includes a handrail (22), to which the ends of ropes (32, 33) are attached. One of the ropes is reeved round pulleys at the frame ends and detachably secured to a pelvic clamp (24), while the other is reeved only round pulleys at the head end of the frame and attached to a device (18) engaging with the Occipital region. Means for adjusting rope length can be included.
