Abstract

The equipment supports a variable amount of the patient's weight, having a box travelling along an overhead rail and equipped with a yoke supporting a belt or corset buckled round the body. The yoke is raised and lowered by a pneumatic or hydraulic ram in the box, acting on it via ropes (6, 7). The ram is connected to a control cubicle (18) regulating the pressure in it and thus the weight suspended from the yoke, and which is shown on a pressure gauge. The yoke (4) can be suspended on two ropes, reeved over pulleys on the end of the ram rod to opposite sides of a plate vertical hinged axis.
