Abstract

An adjustable seat for a vehicle has a back support (5) and a seat support (3) joined by a common hinge (24), each support carrying an upholstered pad (4, 6). The supports are in turn supported by an L-shaped fixed frame (32). The seat support (3) has brackets (15, 16) with wheels (11, 12) which can travel in horizontal U-shaped guides (18, 19) on the base (22) of the fixed frame and the back support has a spindle across the top, with rollers (25, 26) which travel in guides (27, 28) attached to the vertical part (31) of the frame. Thus to alter the inclination of the seat members the seat support travels horizontally and the back support angle changes. Stops (34, 35) in the guides limit the travel of the rollers.
