Abstract
The novelty is that the inner annulus carries an oxidising gas which is not preheated, consisting of: air enriched with O2; O2 plus steam; O2 plus CO2; O2 plus water mist; or pure O2; and this gas may contain powders; the outer annulus carries a fluid or emulsion contg. hydrocarbons and fed directly into the blast furnace. The hot blast is pref. air not enriched with O2, The amt. of fuel oil fed via the other annulus can be increased and more O2 can be used; there is no need to preheat the pure O2.
