Abstract

Blast furnace is operated by blowing a reducing gas into a zone in which a gas pressure drop rarely occurs esp. below the shaft and above the bosh, an enriched oxygen flux esp. contg. 21-40% O2 is simultaneously blown through the tuyeres to determine the most appropriate longitudinal furnace temp. distributions.
