Abstract

In the pump cylinder (13), used as feed chamber (15), the fluid product is taken in, via a non-return valve (22), by the upwards movement of the piston (14). On the downward movement of the piston (14), the product passes, under pressure, via through-passages (31) into a discharge chamber (32). An annular plunger (33) loaded by a strong spring (36) is raised and an increased receiver pressure is set up in the chambers (15 and 32). When the piston stroke is completed, a tap valve (42), provided in the piston (14), makes contact with a stop (46) and connects the feed chamber (15) to the discharge outlet (16), out of which, as a result of the prevailing increased receiver pressure, the product is ejected in a spray-like manner. In this manner, it is possible to spray a fluid without using propellant, the spraying pressure and the respectively sprayed volume of fluid being independent of the pressure which acts on the piston (14) on its downwards movement.
