Abstract

Demountable furniture e.g. wall cupboards, wardrobes, drawers is built up from relatively small components which include vertical ladder frames (1) in parallel planes, horizontal frames (9) of lesser width than and serving to define the spacing of ladder frames, and lateral panels (15). There are connections between vertical (1) and horizontal frames (9), and between horizontal frames (1) and lateral panels (15). The panels correspond to the vertical intervals between horizontal frames (9) and are of an equal width. In e.g. kitchen units, working tops are fixed onto horizontal frames (9) by two longitudinal strips.
