Abstract

To recover gas and oil constituents, used car tyres are decomposed by heat treatment with exclusion of air and formation of gaseous and liquid hydrocarbons. A low-temperature carbonisation generator for carrying out the process is designed as a low-temperature carbonisation pipe (1) which is adapted to the tyre diameter, can be heated and is arranged in a heat-insulated chamber. The low-temperature carbonisation pipe (1) is provided at one end with a feeding device (6-12) sealed air-tight, and also with at least one connection (14, 14a) for rectifying or distillation columns (15, 16), and at the other end with a discharge or removal device (20) for the solid residues arising.
