Abstract

Yarn winding device includes a cantilever mounted yarn winding spindle and a subjacent bobbin winding roller which is mounted pivotally on a shaft which supports a yarn guide roller, in turn located below the yarn traversing device. Winding can be observed readily and winding spindle bearings are relieved of the wt. of the bobbin winding roller. Pref. the traversing device and the guide roller are disposed within the loop defined by the path of the yarn between the upper yarn guide and the nip between the roller and bobbin. Moreover, the guide roller is provided with a helical guide groove whose depth varies from 0.20 to 0.35 of the variation of the yarn length brought about by the traversing triangle.
