Abstract

A winding apparatus for textile yarns in which the yarn is wound onto a mandrel, with a known traversing mechanism, and having a sensing member to contact the periphery of the wound package as this latter approaches its maximum diameter to cut the yarn. Roller 50 runs on the package and pivots arm 38 with increasing package diameter so that eventially the traversed yarn is guided by slot 60 to be cut by blade 68. <IMAGE>
