Abstract

The undersole (1) has a undercut recesses in the sole and the heel. An adhesive is applied to the edges of the heel recess, the area surrounding it, the edges of the sole recess and its surrounding area. Adhesive is similarly applied to the welt and two approximately perpendicular bands between sole and heel. Material is injected at one point in the mould to form the heel (10), an antiskid sole (12) and a raised welt (16). Strips (15, 17) formed over the glued bands between sole and heel provide reinforcement and passages for the moulding material. Sole and heel are mechanically locked and chemically bonded in place.
