Abstract

Method of prodn. of shoes in which a plastics upper is injection moulded onto a real leather sole and heel, is designed to ensure that the plastics material does not cover the edges of the leather, so that it can be easily seen that those portions are of leather, when viewed from the side. The leather portions are made of good fit inside the mould, then adhesive is applied all round the edge, with no leakage possible around the region, before moulding takes place. A narrow strip of leather made up of several layers is placed around the heel region, and adhesive is applied to it before moulding.
