Abstract

In a method of moulding sandals, the sandals the inner sole (3) and the upper (1) are mounted on a former (2) and are placed in the cavity (6) of a mould (7). There is a seal (8) round the periphery of the cavity so that an airtight seal is produced when the inner sole and upper are in the mould. The material to form the sole is then injected under pressure through channels (9) in the moul. This fixes the upper and inner sole firmly to the sole. The upper can be fixed to the top of the inner sole by sewing or it can be fixed to the welt.
