Abstract

Shoe sole is moulded with a heel having partial or total circumferential recesses which can be inlaid with a strip of decorative material, such as laminated leather. The edges of the cover are protected from direct wear and tear, for longer life and greater delamination resistance. Esp. suitable for using covers which are stuck on afterwards because they lack sufficient heat- or chemical-resistance to be used as mould inserts, on hot vulcanised rubber soles.
