Abstract

A tubular main frame, has a handle, seat support, and footrest support, with two wheels and is attached to a sub-frame, projecting rearwards and carrying two more wheels. The sub-frame swings down, and the handles also swing backwards about the same pivot point, resting against the sub-frame. This pivot consists of a triangular plate (10) with a pivot pin (13) on the lower half (5) of the main frame, another pivot pin (12) for the upper half (9) of the main frame forming the handles, and a pair of fixed pins (11) on the sub-frame, so that they can all fold back against each other. The upper half (9) of the main frame carries a peg (16) engaged by a swinging latch (15) with a curved slot to hold the handles ready for use.
