Abstract

772,448. Seats. TALBOYS MANUFACTURING CO., Ltd. May 12, 1955 [May 12,. 1954], No. 13839/54. Class 52 (2). A folding, metal framed chair has a back rest frame 6 pivoted to a supporting frame, 5 so that the back rest is foldable in front of and substantially within the height of the supporting frame, which is made of a single length of metal tubing bent to the shape of two inverted U's joined by a slightly arched crosspiece 10 extending between the front legs. The upper frame 6 is U-shaped with the limbs 13 bent perpendicularly to the plane of the loop and carrying the seat 14. The limbs 13 are each pivoted at 15 to the supporting frame at or near the midpoints of the side members 9 joining the front and rear legs while locking bolts or pins are provided at 16. The back legs 7 are spaced further apart than the front legs so that the chairs may be stacked on each other.
