Abstract

1,053,245. Bed-settees. AXEL CORNELIUS MICHELSEN. Aug. 22, 1963 [Aug. 23, 1962], No. 33270/63. Headings A4J and A4S. A bed-settee has a frame 12 supporting a seat portion 10 and a hollow back rest 16 having side pieces 18 which pivot about pins 24 rigidly mounted on inclined arms 26 which are pivotally connected at 28 on frame 12. The back rest may be swung forwardly along pivots 28 and then turned about pivots 24 to a position Fig. 6 (not shown) in which the back rest is inverted so that the seat may be used as a bed. Bed-clothes are releasably held in the back rest. The lowermost layer of bedclothes may consist of a sheet 50, having a plate reinforcement 54 and end flaps 58.
