In a convertible chair capable of selectively forming a dining-room chair and an easy chair and comprising a supporting structure 2 and a chair body 1 formed by integral seat and back portions 1b, 1a, the chair body 1 is pivotally and displaceably connected with the chair support 2 by a single pair of pivoted connecting rods 8 and a single pair of pins 6 in engagement with a pair of guide grooves 7 in such a manner that the seat and back portions 1b, 1a are capable of changing from the dining-room chair position shown in Fig. 3 to the easy chair position shown in Fig. 4 and vice versa. The chair body 1 may be locked to the support 2 in both its operable positions. In a modification shown in Fig. 5, the chair has arm rests 10. In a further modification shown in Fig. 8, the rods 8 are connected by a cross-member 12 hinged to a reinforcing frame 14 in the portion 1a of the seat.
