1,137,590. Dental chairs. ADAM SCHNEIDER G.m.b.H. 8 Sept., 1966 [11 Sept., 1965], No. 40264/66. Heading A4J. A pivoted extensible link 6 supports an arm rest 1, pivotally connected at 2 to the inclinable back rest 3 of a dental chair, to enable arm 1 to be pivoted upwardly, thus providing unobstructed lateral access to the chair. The telescoping parts of the link 6 are formed as an air dash-pot, to cushion the return of arm 1 to the lowered position. The pivotal connections 2 and 8 are releasable to enable arm 1 to be detached and the latter is retained in the engaged position by a ball-detent.
